In the EN 813 standard, which is a European standard, the requirements for seat belts to be used in lashing, job positioning and rope access systems where a low attachment point is required are explained and test methods are presented. This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: EN 813 Personal protective equipment against falling - Lower seat belts.
This standard also includes marking and information to be provided by the manufacturer. Seating belts are not considered suitable for use for preventing falls.
In short, the EN 813 standard focuses on seat belts for use in work positioning and restraint systems where a low attachment point is required.
The seat belt fastening and adjusting member is any piece of equipment that allows the seat belt to be fastened and allows adjustment of the seat belt to meet the user's seating requirements, such as buckles. The seat belt attachment is the parts of the seat belt designed for load bearing connection to other components.
The seat belt or harness is a combination of straps, fasteners, buckles or other elements in the form of a waist belt with anchor brace surrounding each leg, suitably designed to support the body of a conscious person in a sitting position. Seat belts can be worn with shoulder straps or mounted on a garment.
