EN ISO 14116 Protective Clothing - Protection Against Heat and Flame - Limited Flame Spread Materials, Material Assemblies and Clothing (Old EN 533)

EN ISO 14116 Protective Clothing - Protection Against Heat and Flame - Limited Flame Spread Materials, Material Assemblies and Clothing (Old EN 533)

In the ISO 14116 standard published by the International Standards Institute (ISO), the performance requirements for the limited flame spread properties of materials, material groups and protective clothing are explained and test methods are presented to reduce the risk of burning protective clothing and creating a hazard. There are also additional requirements for protective clothing. This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: EN ISO 14116 Protective clothing - Protection against heat and flame - Materials, material groups and clothing with limited flame spreading feature. This standard replaces the previously published EN 533 standard.

EN ISO 14116 Protective Clothing - Protection Against Heat and Flame - Limited Flame Spread Materials, Material Assemblies and Clothing (Old EN 533)

Protective clothing compliant with the ISO 14116 standard is intended to protect workers against occasional and brief contact with small flames in the absence of a significant heat hazard and no other type of heat. Where protection against heat hazards is required in addition to protection against limited diffuse flammability, standards such as ISO 11612 are considered more appropriate. In addition, the ISO 15025 standard includes a classification system for materials, material groups and clothing tested in accordance with procedure A.

In short, the ISO 14116 standard includes performance requirements for the limited flame propagation properties of all materials, all material assemblies and protective clothing in order to eliminate the risk of occasional and short contact clothing with small flames and creating a hazard. Other additional requirements for clothing are included in this standard, including design requirements, mechanical requirements, marking, and information provided by the manufacturer.

To provide complete protection against exposure to flame, it is necessary to protect the head, face, hands and feet with appropriate personal protective equipment. In some cases, appropriate respiratory protection is also required.

With the experience gained over many years, our organization, within the framework of laboratory services of the materials with a trained and expert staff, EN ISO 14116 Protective clothing - Protection against heat and flame - Limited flame spread It also provides materials, material assembly and garment testing services.
