EN 167 Personal Eye Protection - Optical Test Methods

EN 167 Personal Eye Protection - Optical Test Methods

In the EN 167 standard, which is a European standard, optical test methods for eye protectors whose requirements are in other European standards are provided. This standard has been published in our country by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) with the following title: EN 167 Personal eye protection - Optical test methods.

EN 167 Personal Eye Protection - Optical Test Methods

If shown to be equivalent to this standard, alternative test methods may be used. Non-optical test methods are included in EN 168 standard (EN 168 Personal eye protection - Non-optical test methods). Properties are given in EN 166 standard (EN 166 Personal eye protection - Properties). In the EN ISO 4007 standard, there are definitions for eye and face protection (EN ISO 4007 Personal protective equipment - Eye and face protection - Dictionary) (this is the old EN 165 standard).

Eye and face protection equipment and conditions covered by the EN 167 standard are: spherical, astigmatic and prismatic refractive powers, unmounted ocular covering one eye, unmounted ocular (glasses, goggles and face shields) including both eye and attached oculars, light diffusion test, evaluation of material and surface quality, determination of transmittance, determination of changes in light transmittance and determination of infrared spectral reflection.

Optical design, manufacturing and testing studies cover a wide variety of manufacturing procedures and optical test configurations. Within the scope of optical tests, micro-roughness of sensitive surfaces, surface geometry of magnetic heads, optical components and systems (circles, spheres, parabolas, prisms), surface angles, reflective and anti-reflective coatings and all kinds of specular surfaces are tested.

Production of a conventional lens typically begins with forming the rough shape of the optic, followed by polishing the lens surface. The deflection of an optical surface is expressed in fractions of some suitable wavelength of light. Tests or tests to confirm that the lenses are produced as intended and to ensure that the lenses have the correct shape within the precision allowed.is being burned.

Our organization, which has been trying to support businesses from every sector with its wide range of testing, measurement, analysis and evaluation studies for years, also provides EN 167 personal eye protection optical testing services within the framework of glove testing services, with its trained and expert staff and advanced technological equipment.
