This standard includes, for example, mechanical risks, slip resistance, thermal risks and ergonomic behavior patterns. Special risks are covered by complementary business standards. The EN ISO 20345 standard, which is a basic European standard, contains stricter minimum requirements than previous versions and states that all safety shoes must have toe protection. In addition, these shoes must have 200 joule impact resistance and 15KN compression value.

All safety shoes produced after July 2013 must meet this standard. However, shoes produced before this date continue to be used.
